What Is This?
Ready, Set, Dash through the Old Mill and River Trail, socially distance of course, as we celebrate this holiday season. Run with your family, dress up as your favorite holiday character or reindeer and let's spread some cheer. The Reindeer Dash is a socially-distanced run on an actual course without the mass start. You can run the event any time during December 20-January 2, 2021
How Does It Work?
- Sign up for the race
- You're racing against other runners, just not at the same time or same day.
- You can run the course as many time as you want during this 14 day period. The race begins at 12:01 am PDT on December 20th and end at 11:59pm on January 2, 2021.
- Load the course on your device (smartwatch or smartphone) from the race web page.
- Wherever you start on the course is your Start/Finish. Just roll onto the course and start the race.
- Track your Race efforts using your GPS enabled activity tracker or smartphone.
- You must follow the published course closely. If you deviate by 200 meters or more, your race attempt will be excluded from the rankings.
- Your fastest race attempt counts during the time window.
- Sync efforts by exporting .GPX file from either your activity tracker or smartphone. You can also automatically sync using your STRAVA account.
- Race attempts must be submitted within 24 hours from the time the attempt has started.
- Login and track your progress on the race leaderboards and activity feed.

The maps for the race courses are on RideWithGPS. You can import them super easily into your cycling computer, watch, or tracking app.

How is This Different Than Other Virtual Events?
- The BIGGEST difference is that you're competing on the same course as everyone else. Only, you're able to run it whenever and however many times you want, on your own! Go as many times as you'd like to capture your best time.
- The course is a loop, so whenever you first enter the course, that point becomes your start/finish line.

Who is the beneficiary of this event?
We love the River and all that it offers! A portion of your registration fee is donated to our friends at Deschutes River Conservancy who actively work to restore the streamflow and improve the water quality. Let's keep the river flowing!
